Aaron's mom dropped us all off at the airport and the adventure began with Jeremiah pulling one of our two strollers to the check in desk. The clerk felt sorry for us and took the suitcases to the TSA machines for us (thank you). It's hard to push a stroller loaded with three kids and pull two suitcases.
Going through security was a lot of waiting (and stares). One group of Chinese tourists took a picture of my three on the stroller, and many commented on how adventurous and brave I was. Thankfully they didn't notice the odor coming from Joshua's diaper.
We took off everyone's shoes, dutifully pulled out all our liquids (including three sippy cups of juice) and found our way with no problems.
Once at the gate I pulled out the cars and the three raced and crashed cars all over the place. We met some friendly people who smiled at my crowd.
The first plane ride went well. Joshua took a too short nap, and Jeremiah wanted to hold my hand a lot, but their new sticker book entertained them for most of the flight.
We connected in Chicago (Midway, thankfully not O'Hare) and it was a bit of a hike, but a McFlurry lifted everyone's mood. Joshua slept through the transfer from the stroller to the plane, through takeoff, and managed a bit longer nap.
In no time we were with Gran in Arkansas, ready to play.
wow! you are sO brave!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Abi!
ReplyDeleteI love reading your blog for your honesty, bravery, patience, & unending faith conviction. If taking 3 under 5 on a plane by yourself doesn't show that, I don't know what does. Nice job :)
You are brave. I thought we made quite a show both of us moving just two kids through airports this week. Haha! We have lots of Chinese folks take our kids pics, too. Occasionally, I just stand on the sidewalk posing with them like a Disneyland character :)
